In short
Smart Dating does not ask for, collect or store your name, email address or any other contact details. There are no forms, accounts, comments or newsletters on this site. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are read, and analytics cookies are set only if you agree to them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to measure how the site is used: how many visits each page receives, roughly where visitors come from (country and city level), which device and browser they use, and which links they follow, including links to other websites. We use this to decide what to write and what to improve. We do not use it for advertising, and we have not enabled Google's advertising features.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google processes analytics data under its own terms; you can read how in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choice, and Consent Mode
On your first visit, a short notice asks whether you accept analytics cookies. We use Google's Consent Mode, which starts with all storage denied. Until you choose Accept, Google Analytics sets no cookies on your device; it may still receive basic signals without identifiers, such as the fact that a page was viewed, which Google uses only in aggregate.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name sdj-consent. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

We use no advertising or social media cookies.
Hosting
Like every website, our hosting provider receives the standard technical information your browser sends when it requests a page, such as your IP address, the page requested and the time, and uses it to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to studies, publications, businesses and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.
Children
Smart Dating is written for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your rights and questions
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is processed about you, to have it deleted, or to opt out of certain uses. Because we do not collect contact details, the only personal information involved is the analytics data described above; declining analytics cookies, or clearing them, is the most direct way to limit it.
